We pray in the words of
May we be filled with the Knowledge of God's Will in all Wisdom and Spiritual Knowledge so thar we may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the Knowledge of God.
And in the words of St Peter:
May we grow in the Grace and Knowledge of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end Amen
The Gift of Knowledge
The Gift of Knowledge corresponds to the Virtue of Faith and Is the ability to speak in a way that gives true Knowledge to people especially knowledge of Scripture and knowledge of God.
It is the guiding light and travelling companion on our journey through life.
It is by the power of the gift of Knowledge that we instinctively judge what is good and what is evil in all that concerns our salvation.
The gift of Knowledge constantly comes to our aid, speaking to us through our conscience:You know that is wrong! You know that is not true You know what you should do in this situation" etc Sometimes we do not want to know.
Sometimes we become so distraught, and make so much noise within, we cannot hear the gentle guiding voice calmly telling us what should be done.
The more we listen and take heed, which means the more we correspond with this grace, the more our knowledge is deepened, and the less we are overcome by evil.
Mary was filled with new Knowledge when Simeon assured her "You yourself shall be pierced with a sword so the thoughts of many hearts may be laid bare" (Lk 2:35)
The Blessed Mother's participation in the redemptive mission of her Son will cause many to empty their lives of old thoughts and ideas so as to make room for the Spirit's Gift of Knowledge, a knowledge of the Truth that transforms us by uniting us to the very mind and heart of God.
God gives Mary to us as a Mother with whom we can lay bare our hearts and unburden our souls.
By our union with Mary, the spouse of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit's Gift of Knowledge comes to fruition within us.
